WHAT TO EXPECT
The Consultation
A comprehensive skin consultation will enable Divinia to gain a deeper understanding of your skin. In turn, they’ll be able to recommend skincare that is both safe and effective. By skipping this vital step, your skin may enjoy a pampering, but it can be difficult to see real results.
Pre Treatment Advice
Although facials are a standard beauty procedure, there are a few things to remember before getting one. Think about what you’ve got planned. The fact is that your skin may be a little red immediately following any facial treatment – this is totally normal and to be expected. Any redness will clear up within a day, but you might want to pass on date night if you’ve spent all afternoon at the beauty salon!

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECT?
AFTERCARE
Some of the most common side effects of facial treatments are red, patchy, and irritated skin. Incorrect pressure during the extraction and exfoliation processes could be a factor. Allergic reactions to the products used can also be a culprit. To resolve this issue, we ask that you stop using harsh skin care products and makeup for one to two days after the treatment. Doing so will allow their skin to breathe and heal properly. If they plan on getting a facial to make their skin look gorgeous for an event, remind them to set the appointment several days before the big day
Avoid wearing make-up for at least six hours after a facial treatment. • Always cleanse, tone and moisturise your face. To prevent loss of moisture, protect the skin from make-up and to keep the skin soft and supple. • Always remove all traces of make-up at the end of the day. • Drink plenty of water (we recommend 6-8 glasses per day). • Eat a healthy, balanced diet – include at least five portions of fruit and vegetables. • Do not undertake any other facial skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a facial. • Avoid sunbathing for up to 12 hours. • Avoid direct heat, such as saunas, hot baths, showers or a hot hairdryer. • Do not apply perfume or perfumed products to treated area within 48 hours of having a facial. • Stay away from direct sunlight/sunbeds and heat e.g. saunas for 48 hours after having a facial. • Do not apply any other exfoliating skincare products for 72 hours after having a facial. • Always use an SPF sunscreen to block ultraviolet B rays. • Avoid smoking and alcohol.
DOES IT HURT?
Facials are meant to be relaxing! A facial is an excellent way to rejuvenate, renew, relax. We have had many patients who are first timers to our services and they are very anxious about getting a facial. They hear about how painful facials are, they may have seen videos or have heard others have a bad experiences at other spas. We are here to put that thought at rest.
